On April 1, 2013, the new Social Security Tribunal (SST) became responsible for appeals under the Employment Insurance Act.

The Board of Referees is no longer receiving notices of appeal or holding hearings and has now completed its work. All outstanding appeals and related matters have been transferred to the SST.
